Kaesong

Kaesong City (Kaesŏng-si), North Hwanghae Province, DPRK.
Kaesŏng is a city in North Hwanghae Province, North Korea (DPRK). It was the capital of Korea during the Koryo Dynasty, and a center of trade - then, it was known as "Songdo", meaning "capital of pines". It is famous both for its natural beauty and its wealth of historic architecture, as it avoided destruction during the American firebombings of the Korean War. It is sometimes called "Gaeseong".

I spent all of about 4 minutes in North Korean territory back in 1985 when I went on the JSA tour while I was stationed at Camp Casey.

How close was this bridge to Camo Libertybell and the JSA area. I was stationed there as we ping ponged with the 1/38th, I was in the1/9th Infantry 2nd Infantry Division, (2nd to None that is!) in mid July of 1969 thru mid September of 1970.

If that North Korean's superiors had caught him sleeping, he would have been tortured and killed along with his family. So, in reality, he actually probably did him a favor with that little prank. Way to act like a braindead civilian though, popping off even though you don't actually know anything.

You had to step over the demarcation line. This was no problem for the DPRK?
